Entre los fines fundacionales del Instituto de Estudios Canarios se encuentra el de promover y recuperar el acervo cultural y científico de las islas, razón por la que se ha promovido una colección dedicada a la bibliografía científica. Aunque no se trata de una colección muy numerosa, entre sus volúmenes encontrará el lector recopilaciones de títulos de indudable valor científico en múltiples disciplinas del saber.
